K-Deucez has built a name for himself over the last few years by releasing solid remixes, putting out dope mixes and guest mixes, and by being one of the better DJ’s on the DJ circuit. Although he recently lost his Soundcloud account, support for his latest mixtape “The Calm” amongst his peers and fans has been strong, reaching 500 downloads in the first day the mixtape was released.
We caught up with “Kaeman” K-Deucez as we asked him a few questions about the release and what exactly happened to his Soundcloud.
What happened to your old Soundcloud account?
My first Soundcloud got deleted because of copyright infringement. I had my account at 2 million plays & 7k followers which was difficult to lose.
Why did you decide to put this mixtape out?
Honestly, I put this mixtape out to build anticipation for when i drop my first official EP in January. This will be the last remix project I will be releasing for a while.
Why did you call it “The Calm”?
The name “The Calm” comes from the term “The Calm Before The Storm”. It’s a hint that people need to be ready for what i’m dropping early 2015, which by the way, will NOT be called “The Storm”..
Any theme behind the songs you picked?
I wanted to keep the mood very mellow and easy to listen to. I rarely listened to other club producers, which means I don’t need to draw from them for inspiration. For these remixes I drew from other influences, but it’s also why my sound is my own, the remixes on the mixtape were purely from the mind of K-Deucez.
What have you got planned next?
Up next from me is my Extended Play project which I will be dropping early 2016. I’ve been putting all of my musical efforts into this EP, and hopefully I can show the world a glimmer as to what is in store for the future. I don’t have a name for it yet, maybe I will call it “The Storm” after all!
